Papers

Contributions should be limited in scope to the two major topics of the Symposium. Theoretical and methodological review papers are most desirable as are case studies that present their results within a broader comparative framework. All types of marine ecosystems are of interest.

Although most of the time allotted for oral presentations will be committed to keynote and invited speakers, a limited number of contributed papers may be selected by the Scientific Program Committee for oral presentation to ensure a balanced program.

See 'Publications' for further information about the publication process, etc.

Posters

Posters will serve as an important means of communication at the Symposium. There will be a different poster session on each of the first three days of the symposium. There will be one hour set aside for formal viewing of posters during the afternoon coffee break, from 4 to 5 p.m. Authors are expected to be present at their posters during this time. Of course, posters may be viewed at other times. Posters must be removed at the end of the morning coffee break on the day following their formal presentation. Posters for the next session should be put up during the lunch break. In other words, posters will be available from lunchtime until the end of the morning coffee break the following day. Supplies will be available at the registration desk.

A selection of the posters displayed the first three days, will re-appear on the last day of the symposium. Authors were notified in December 2003 of the times of their sessions and given instructions about the time for mounting posters.

Summaries of the poster contributions will be included in the oral sessions.

Posters can be hung in portrait or landscape orientation and MUST NOT EXCEED 1.2m by 0.8m in size. All supplies for mounting posters will be provided. Double-sided tape is the most common method of attaching posters to boards.
