Powerlifting Fundraiser Supporting Special Olympics SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Powerlifters are hoping to raise up the Special Olympics team from South Dakota this weekend. The second annual Lift For A Cause is set for this Saturday at GreatLIFE on 69th and Southeastern in Sioux Falls. The first event last year raised more than $2,300 and featured 33 powerlifters. While no Special Olympics athletes will be competing, they will be on hand to educate fans about the organization's mission. It's a cause powerlifter Brenda Kuhns is passionate about. She started lifting after watching last year's meet. "Lot of females who were there, it was there first time being there. So that's the other thing that I think pushed me to do it even harder too is that there were a lot of women who, Strength Training 'We've never done this before. We just thought it would be fun. Plus it would be going to a good cause,'" Kuhns said. Lift For A Cause is Saturday at 9 a.m. at the 69th and Southeastern GreatLIFE Facility. Admission is $5.
